Buddha’s Light International Association of Victoria
On behalf of the Buddha’s Light International of Victoria, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to join us in the 16th Buddha’s Day and Multicultural Festival 2011 in Victoria.
The festival has been growing steadily, since the first festival held in the City Square in 1995, it has now become a popular annual event enjoyed by many diverse individuals. I am proud to be an Australian living in such a vibrant, open, and inclusive multicultural city of Melbourne.
In commemorating Buddha’s birthday, we celebrate the teaching of Buddha in how to lead a life of compassion and harmony with others and our environments. It is also a celebration of the harmonious diverse cultures and faiths in Melbourne.
I would like to thank the city of Melbourne, Federation Square, the Victorian Multicultural Commission and their management and staff and our Community Partner – City West water for their continuous support.
Lastly I would like to extend my greatest gratitude to all the volunteers’ tireless efforts to organizing and running the festival. Your contributions are the essence of the Venerable Master Hsing Yin’s hopes for BLIA members to emulate the spirit of the bodhisattvas, who are compassionate to all beings and benefit them impartially.
We hope you enjoy the Buddha’s Day celebration!
May you have Skillful Wisdom and Enlightened Minds!
