Each year Victorians from all walks of life look forward to the Buddha's Day and Multicultural Festival. It is a joyful and inclusive celebration that captures the teachings of Buddhism.

Victoria's Buddhist community holds a special place in our multicultural and
multifaith State, which has a proud history of celebrating diversity. By promoting the qualities of religious and cultural harmony, Victoria's Buddhist community exemplifies what multiculturalism is all about.

In this spirit, I commend you for organising today's festivities and thank you for your contribution to Victoria.
