I am delighted to have the opportunity once again to extend my greetings and best wishes to everyone taking part in this year's celebrations for the Buddha's Day and Multicultural Festival at Federation Square.

Now in it's fifteenth year, this festival remains one of Melbourne's most exciting multicultural events, highlighting the best of Victoria's many diverse cultures that add so much to the rich fabric of our society.

The Victorian Liberal National Coalition recognises the significance of the contributions our vibrant multicultural communities make to Victoria's cultural identity and development.  We encourage everyone to enjoy the Buddha's Day and Multicultural Festival.  It is a wonderful way of bringing people together for a weekend of entertainment, art and the promotion of harmony and goodwill among us all.

I congratulate Fo Guang Shan Melbourne and Buddha's Light International Association of Victoria who has worked so hard to bring this festival to Victorians again this year, and offer my best wishes for the continuing success in the future.
